Experience and teaching approach
Early childhood music teacher specialising in Diapason the Wizard in Alicante.
My name is Mónica Berenguer Caro. I am a professional orchestral horn player and a music teacher.
I completed my higher studies specialising in horn in Alicante in 2014, although I moved abroad in 2013.
I spent a year studying in Hannover (Germany) as an Erasmus student.
Once there, I decided to start working as an orchestral musician. I successfully passed the auditions to join the Orchestra of Heidelberg, where I performed opera for one year. After beginning my orchestral career in this way, I devoted myself to symphonic classical music for the following seven years, as a member of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra as low horn, performing under conductors such as Ricardo Mutti, Daniel Gatti, D. Harding, Sakari Oramo, Alondra de la Parra and Simone Young.
Alongside performance, I have never forgotten my passion for teaching and I continued my professional training by completing two master’s degrees: a Master in Classical Music Performance at the Stockholm Conservatory, and a Master in Teaching at the Universidad Internacional de Valencia. With the latter and the training I received in the wonderful Diapason the Wizard method, I can teach music to babies and children from early years up to bachillerato.
I currently have a daughter of almost three, Carlota, which further motivates me to immerse myself fully in the world of early music education, as music brings many benefits to the development of babies and children.
Soon I will be eagerly starting work in early years centres across the province of Alicante: nursery schools in San Vicente, the state-subsidised school «La Milagrosa» in Agost, children’s leisure centres and schools in Elche, Elda, Petrer, Novelda, San Vicente del Raspeig and the surrounding area. I will also combine this with horn lessons at music schools such as «La Artística» in Novelda, «Ateneo» in Aspe and «La Lira» in Monforte del Cid.
