Bambera

Bambera is a music school especially aimed at children from the very first stage: babies up to 6–7 years. We use a musical method that covers an age range which, when we first opened our doors, was not available anywhere in early years education in Vigo.

Our main ideas are that children should be able to attend activities full of content from the very first moment, and that learning should take place in child‑adapted environments, in a playful way. Our age range starts from the very first minute of the little ones’ lives.

Both of us are trained in the Diapason the Wizard and we combine our work at Bambera with other activities. María teaches the Diapason the Wizard method in several nursery schools in Vigo and Pontevedra.

At our music school we also teach musical instruments using the Suzuki Method: piano and violin. We are one of the few schools in Galicia and, we believe, the only one in the province of Pontevedra using this methodology. There is a substantial difference between this method and the traditional one: the aim is not for children to become great instrumentalists but to become good people, and therefore every child will be able to play an instrument, each according to their abilities.

We also organise music masterclasses with renowned instrumentalists. These masterclasses are aimed at conservatoire students and musicians in general who wish to broaden their knowledge, improve their performance and add value to their CV.

Apart from music activities for children and babies. At Bambera we love everything related to childhood and education. For that reason, on occasion we organise courses and workshops for children, parents and/or professionals, on topics that align with our philosophy. Here you will find occasional workshops and courses related to: Montessori pedagogy, First Aidand on education and pedagogy in general. This is what we call ‘active learning’«.
