Experience and teaching approach
Teacher of musical initiation for babies and children. Specialist in early music education using the Diapason the Wizard method and in cello, based in Tlaxcala.
I'm Lucila García, a cellist and a teacher of musical initiation.
My journey with music began at a young age. I studied cello at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Veracruzana and continued my training at the Faculty of Music of UNAM. Over time I discovered that one of my greatest callings was teaching, especially for those approaching the musical world for the first time. For this reason, I also trained in the Diapason the Wizard method, a playful and approachable way to introduce very young children to music.
I began teaching in 2014, working on educational projects aimed at children and young people. Over time I broadened my focus to include adults and older adults, because I am convinced it is never too late to learn and music can be a transformative experience at any stage of life. I currently combine these lessons with early childhood music teaching using the Diapason the Wizard method.
In my lessons I always aim to make music accessible, approachable and fun. I'm keen that each pupil feels supported in their own process, with no comparisons and without unnecessary pressure. I firmly believe that everyone
can learn music; they only need an environment that provides confidence, patience and the right tools. My mission is to help you experience music with joy, freedom and confidence.
Today I run my project “Cello cello y más cello”, a school specialising in cello that supports students from musical initiation through to preparation for professional schools. We also offer recreational classes for adults, because
music is not only studied: it is lived, enjoyed and shared.
Since 2006 I have taken part in projects aimed at bringing music closer to my community. I was part of the creation of the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de Tlaxcala and collaborated with Fundación Euterpe Música y Artes Escénicas, promoting seasons of symphony concerts, festivals, conferences and educational activities that enabled more people to experience music in accessible spaces.
I am currently also part of artistic projects such as the duo Ometeotl and the quartet Navegantes del Tiempo, with which I continue exploring new ways to create and share music.
Music is my language, my work and my way of building community.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
