Experience and teaching approach

Teacher offering music classes for babies and children using the Diapason the Wizard Method and the Suzuki violin. Madrid. Mi Pequeño Violín School.

Hello! I am Laura Martín Losa, director of the Mi Pequeño Violín Music Centre. I am a qualified music teacher with a higher degree specialising in violin, and a specialist in early music education with the Diapason the Wizard Method, teaching music in a fun way to children from 12 months, or the Suzuki Method for violin, which teaches this wonderful instrument naturally to children from the age of 3.

After finishing my violin degree I began collaborating with professional orchestras such as the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española (ORTVE) for various seasons as an orchestra teacher. Thanks to my strong pedagogical vocation, I have combined performance with teaching, specialising in children's music education through the most innovative methodologies.

In my teaching career I have trained with leading figures in Suzuki Method teaching such as Ana María Sebastián (Spain), and C. Bossuat, K. Rens and W. Van Gorp (Europe). I am a member of the Federación Española de Método Suzuki (FEMS) and of the European Suzuki Association (ESA). I have also received personal training from Paqui Castro, the creator of the Diapason the Wizard Method.

I completed a Master's in Musical Research at the Universidad Internacional de Valencia, carrying out a master's thesis on the Suzuki Method and its implementation in schools. I have worked for various Suzuki Method schools in Madrid and led the Suzuki Methodology project in the classrooms of Colegio Alarcón (Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid) for three years from its introduction.

With over 15 years' teaching experience, in 2019 I created my own educational project, Mi Pequeño Violín, where I offer extracurricular music activities in several childcare centres such as My Little Planet and Big Little School in central Madrid. I teach the Diapason the Wizard Method, violin with the Suzuki Method, or traditional violin lessons to prepare students for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) exams.

I teach in Spanish and English. I hold the First Certificate in English (B2 – Cambridge).
